The first thing you’ll notice is that each Chapter heading in the Table of Contents is followed by
a quick “buzz word” summary of the article and the subjects and/or documents referenced within
each chapter. This eliminates the necessity to search through the blogs online to find a particular
piece of information. While all sources aren’t mentioned, the chapter’s subject matter is
described enough for quick referencing.
Next, you’ll notice this compendium is in color. Blue font for links in the online version are
easily identified, usually underlined, shaded and/or in italics. Everything appears herein as it
appears in the online blogsite where you can go to follow any link that appears in this hard copy
text.
I’ve tried to provide every possible avenue for you to view the source documents referenced in
each chapter. Remember, this is a compendium of blogs written, posted and maintained online at
www.johnsonstrategiesllc.com. Every blog will continue to be maintained online indefinitely
and can be accessed by entering the name of the chapters (blogs) in this book in the “search” bar
on the home page or by going to the date (month/year) listed down the right-hand side of the
home page. This text puts it all in one place in chronological order eliminating the need to ferret
through and read hundreds of online blogs for just one small piece of information.
Once you’ve located the article online, any links within it should still be “hot” and take you to
the original internet destination. I have, in almost every case, downloaded the document to my
online library so that even if the source URL no longer functions or the document, study, picture,
article, whatever, has been removed, it is still just a click away stored within the online library
tab.
Further, every AOB document in my online library is listed in the bibliography and numbered 1-
305. The same list can be found online in alpha order behind the “Library” tab and by choosing
“Assignment of Benefits prior to the July 1, 2019 reforms” from the drop-down menu. This
serves the purpose of providing an overview of all the available documents, even those that may
not appear or be referenced within a chapter or its notes. I often came across something, a media
piece for example, that was not used/referenced in any article but was valuable enough to put in
the online library for, well, someday, when I might write a book on AOB.
It’s likely that events will occur, new trial lawyer schemes, court challenges or rate or form
filings, etc. that are worthy of more AOB blogs down the road. Since they cannot be listed in an
already published book, either the article or its sources, they will be separately identified online.
Those blogs and sources created after this book was published will be in the library tab and titled
“Assignment of Benefits on or after the July 1, 2019 reforms”. This way what appears in this
book will always be consistent with what is available online at www.johnsonstrategiesllc.com.
